Dr. Johnson discussed the history of pregnancy and lactation labeling and explained the rationale for the new labeling requirements, described the new elements of prescription drug labeling to improve communication to the prescriber about potential risks with drug use during pregnancy and lactation and identified the new location for recommendations on pregnancy testing, contraception use, and infertility effects in prescription drug labeling.
