FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE -- Irvine, CA -- February 12, 2009 --- Arbonne International, LLC ("Arbonne") announced today the expansion of its voluntary recall initiated in January 2009, of certain lots of its Arbonne Figure 8® Peanut Butter Chews because the products contain peanut butter that was manufactured by Peanut Corporation of America, which is the focus of an ongoing nationwide Salmonella investigation by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration ("FDA"). In rare circumstances, infection with Salmonella can result in the organism getting into the bloodstream and producing more severe illnesses such as arterial infections (i.e., infected aneurysms), endocarditis and arthritis. For more information on Salmonella bacteria, please visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Web site at www.cdc.comhttp://www.cdc.gov. Consumers with questions or concerns about their health or observe symptoms should contact their health care provider or go to a hospital.
