Abbott Recalls Certain Similac® Brand Powder Infant Formulas Main Page

New Product is Now Available

Abbott Nutrition will soon begin distribution of powdered infant formula product from their Sturgis, Michigan plant to retail and other outlets.

On September 22, 2010, Abbott initiated a voluntary recall of certain Similac brand, powdered infant formulas in the U.S., Puerto Rico, Guam and some countries in the Caribbean after detecting the presence of a small common warehouse beetle and its larvae in powdered formula produced at the single facility in Michigan. No Abbott liquid formulas were included in the recall.  

Abbott has worked with state and FDA officials to satisfactorily implement plans at this manufacturing facility to correct the situation, and prevent its recurrence.

Stores will soon feature the sign below to differentiate the new product from the recalled product:
