Learn About the Changes to

March 15, 2013

Welcome to If you have used this website before, you may have noticed that we’ve made some changes since your last visit. This page explains why we made changes to the Food section of It also highlights the major changes so that you can quickly navigate to some of our most popular content.

Why did you make changes to the Food section?

We evaluated the Food section and determined that we can make it easier to use. We did this by:

  • Getting feedback from consumers, industry, health educators, and scientists through testing

  • Analyzing satisfaction survey results to learn what information our visitors were having trouble finding

  • Reviewing web analytics to learn what content was most popular vs. what content was rarely used

  • Considering the current best practices in web content and usability

What happened to some of the pages I used to frequent?

Although most URLs have stayed the same, some of the pages you used to visit or had bookmarked may have been deleted as part of our effort to consolidate or update information. When applicable, we’ve included redirects to relevant pages.

You can continue to look for information through the navigation menus as well as through the search boxes at the top of the site or on the Food homepage.

If you’re still having trouble finding the information you’re looking for, please contact us.
