Bad Bug Book 2nd Edition: Tetrodotoxin

Toxin found in select marine organisms responsible for illnesses in humans including crabs, mollusks and, most notably, puffer fish (select members of the family Tetraodontidae). Tetrodotoxin production has been found in some marine bacteria but the source of toxin in organisms responsible for illness and deaths is uncertain.
