MCMi in Action: Protecting National Health and Security

FDA is committed to protecting national health and security. We are working to foster the development and availability of medical products that will be needed to counter a public health emergency, no matter its origin.

The FDA Medical Countermeasures Initiative (MCMi) mission includes:

 Stethoscope and books, representing the MCMi legal, regulatory and policy frameworkA collaborative effort to modernize the legal, regulatory and policy framework establishes effective policies and mechanisms to facilitate timely access to available MCMs
 A student in an MCMi professional development course conducts a lab exercise in a BSL-4 training labA professional development program helps FDA meets the regulatory challenges posed by new science and technology developments
