Promote global interactions in regulatory science

Objective 2.1 - Promote global scientific interactions

I. Outreach Measures

A. Maintain / enhance the collaborations (e.g., FDA Product Centers, government agencies, and industry) and increase outreach to advance communication of scientific knowledge.

  1. Number of manuscripts submitted to peer-reviewed journals in the quarter
  2. Total number of GovDelivery Subscriptions (Research Highlights + Quarter Page) at the end of the quarter

II. Research Publication Measures

A. Increase the submission of manuscripts accepted for publication in scientific journals.

  1. Percentage of manuscripts submitted to scientific journals in the last 12 months which were accepted for publication in the quarter

Improve administrative management and develop new communication materials and methods to support HHS/FDA science goals

Objective 3.1 - Implement business processes that ensure program integrity and develop best practices to recruit and retain a talented workforce

I. Health Monitoring Program Measures

A. Ensure animal health monitoring program is compliant with standard operating procedures (SOP).

  1. Number of animal rooms scheduled for sentinel animal surveillance during the month
  2. Number of animal rooms where sentinel animal surveillance was conducted during the month

II. Workforce Measures

A. Ensure animal care/diet preparation technical workforce is trained to provide quality animal care to NCTR research animals.

  1. Percentage of animal care/diet preparation technical personnel who are American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) certified

Objective 3.2 - Develop communication strategies that help explain how regulatory science research information can lead to public and personalized health gains

Measures are under development and will be available once finalized.
