- Groups translated and made copies of the My Medicines brochure in other languages including Cantonese, Russian and Hmong.
- Hospitals printed brochures, made displays with the materials, and conducted workshops.
- Pharmacy, nursing and medical associations formed speaker's bureaus to provide community groups and businesses with experts for discussion sessions.
- Veterans Affairs Medical Centers sponsored health fairs in their lobbies and distributed materials at their women's health clinics.
- HMOs and insurance companies organized workshops in coordination with hospitals and senior centers. It was not unusual for these events to draw 150 people.
- Community Health Centers used the TTTC program as an opportunity to inform thousands of senior citizens about the $100 Medicare waiver available to consumers over the age of 65 who have a physical examination at the CHC.
- Meal programs, for those who are shut in and those who come to centers, distributed materials to their clients.
- Businesses used the materials as part of their employee assistance program, including holding brown bag sessions and setting up displays with a pharmacist in the cafeteria at work-sites.
- Many communities used their churches or synagogues to pass out brochures after services.
- Local media outlets wrote articles or hosted shows on the topic and identified an appropriate health professional or FDA representative to answer questions.
- A senior services group developed a skit about the safe use of medicines at home, which they presented in public housing, senior centers, churches and schools.
- Health fairs added a "Use Medicines Wisely" booth and panel discussion to their programs.
- Public officials issued proclamations and went on television and radio talk shows to spread the message to "Use Medicines Wisely."
- Libraries displayed the materials and held workshops.
- Exercise programs, blood pressure screening projects, and flu shot campaigns added the "Use Medicines Wisely" materials to their activities.
