This document contains the release notes for eSAF Version 1.1.00. It
consists of the following two sections:
- Enhancements & New Functionality: This section identifies
new system capabilities available in this release.
- Deficiencies Corrected: This section describes errors corrected
in this release.
Enhancements & New Functionality
The following enhancements have been made to eSAF v1.1.00 screens and functions:
Assignment Details
1. CCR 5, 15
Description of Change: A new screen called “Operation Accomplishments” was
created to handle Investigation accomplishments related to non-active
firms. This screen can only be accessed if the firm under investigation
is a non-active
firm. The following firm statuses are defined to identify non-active
firms:

INA – Inactive (firm is not doing anything - may in the future)

NOE – Not OEI – (firm is open but not regulated)

OOB – Out of Business (firm is close - didn't move or change names)

PRP – Pre-Production (firm is not yet open - will be soon)
-
SEA – Seasonal
(e.g. firm is open during summer harvest)
Firm Update
- CCR 64
Description of Change: The Firm Update screen
has been modified to validate the Zip Code against the State entered
and to generate the firms Home District from the State-Zip code
combination.
Add Process
- CCR 177
Description of Change: The system has been modified
to only allow a one-to-one relationship between Establishment Type
and Process. The Add Process screen displays all possible combinations
of Process and Establishment Type as entered on the Add Products
screen. The user is able to enter PAC, Inspection Conclusion, and
Accomplishment Hours against all the applicable combinations for
the inspection. The system does not accept duplicates.

Description of Change: The Add Process screen
has been modified to display only valid PAC Codes selected in
the Operation screen by the State Contract Monitor (SCM).
Upload Program
- CCR 435b
Description of Change: The eSAF Coversheet has been
modified to display the name of the SCM and the Date of Approval.
Inspection Results
- CCR 195
Description of Change: The system has been modified
to allow users to generate a coversheet report for each inspection.
The button to generate the inspection coversheet, ‘Generate
Inspection Report’, will appear on the main Inspection Results
page.
Processes and Products
- CCR 623
Description of Problem: The system has been modified
to prevent the user from submitting a record to the FDA if the Inspection
Conclusion and the Accomplishment Hours information are not entered
for all inspected processes.
- CCR 614
Description of Change: The Processes and Products
screen has been modified to display the PAC Code in addition to
the PAC Description in the Inspected Processes and Conclusions
block.
Firm Inspection History
- CCR 9
Description of Change: The Firm Search screen has been
created to allow all users to search for a firm without linking it to
an assignment. State Users are allowed to search and view all inspection
data related to food firms within their state, including inspections
conducted by FDA in FACTS. FDA users are allowed to search for firms
in any state..
Establishment Type
- CCR 615
Description of Change: The Warehouse Establishment
Type has been replaced to match the FACTS establishment type Warehouse-Ambient
storage (WA), Warehouse-Frozen storage (WF) Warehouse-Refrigerated storage
(WR), and Warehouse-Ambient, Refrigerated and Frozen storage (WZ).
Inspection Results Reference Code
- CCR 422
Description of Change: The Inspection Status ‘Completed/Accepted
Inspection data with firms updated by FDA’ has been renamed ‘Completed/Accepted
Inspection data with Firm Updates’.
Build Firm List
- CCR 62
Description of Change: The Build Firm List screen has
been modified to disable the ‘Add to Firm List’ button if
no firm has been selected.
Assignment Search
- CCR 504
Description of Change: The Search and Sort Criteria
screen has been modified to allow user to enter an assignment number
and hit the Enter key to search for an assignment.
Maintain Users
- CCR 196
Description of Change: The eSAF User Administration
module has been created to automate the user maintenance process
and
have a single interface for maintaining eSAF users. Access to this
new module is only granted to users with one of the three
System Administrator roles:
- The Primary System Administrator role has full maintenance
capabilities : create, update and delete State and FDA personnel
data and reset
passwords.
- The Secondary System Administrator role has limited update capabilities
: update user information , reset password, assign and revoke non-system
administration roles.
- The Password System Administrator role has reset password capabilities
only.

II. Deficiencies Corrected
- CCR 624
Description of Problem: When the user updates firm information in eSAF
and the inspection is accepted without the firm updates, the firm changes
are still being uploaded to FACTS.
Description of Change: The system has been modified to
not upload firm changes into FACTS if the SCM has not been approved
by them.
