Proposed Agenda for Second Week of the
International Workshop on Total Diet Studies

 

Afternoon: Laboratory demonstrations

Each participant will have the opportunity to attend four of the six lab sessions listed below. Attendance will be limited to 15 people per laboratory.

Sample Preparation and Carbamates

P&IC analysis of fatty and non-fatty foods

Minerals and Hydride operations

Mercury analysis and Furnace operations

VOCs, CPAs

ETU, Benzimidazoles, Phenylureas

Morning: Laboratory lectures at the hotel

Up to five lecture/discussions will be offered each morning depending on attendee interest.

Participants will be able to attend a lecture session corresponding to the laboratory session which they are scheduled to attend in the afternoon. These sessions will focus on the procedures to be demonstrated in the corresponding laboratories. Topics will include procedural overview, theory, and problems. Historical findings and trends will also be discussed.

Optional lecture sessions will also be provided in the morning sessions:

Quality assurance principles/problem

Scope of analyses, foods, elements, P&ICs

Future developments and research

Friday: Wrap-up at the hotel
