| I urge you not to take over-the-counter Hydodrquinone off the market. I am under the care of the Mayo Clinic, and have been prescribed this product. I am using the 4% cream, and have had no negative side effects. The 2% over-the-counter cream allows more people, particularly women, the ability to treat embarrassing discolorations, a treatment that they may not otherwise be able to afford. There are so many more dangerous substances that are sold freely that affect a much larger population. Children's low dose aspirin can kill. But what have you done about that? Why not place a warning on the jar and leave the decision up to the ADULT who chooses to purchase and use it? Our appearance often defines our self-esteem--sad but true. Please don't force all of us to pay the price of dermatologist visits, when the doctor will more than likely prescribe the cream, perhaps even in the higher strength.
