| I am strongly against the use of cloned animals for use in human food. The loss of genetic diversity, in both plants and animals, is already well advanced. Cloning will only increase that loss. With genetic diversity loss, comes an increased vulnerability for disease in the food stocks. It is through diversity that plants and animals can resist micro organisms. The Irish potato famine is a good example of what can happen when there is too much dependence on a single, non-diverse crop. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
