I agree with the sentiments expressed in Ronald Levine's letter below.
It is time to ban mercury amalgam fillings, especially for children and pregnant women.

From Ronald H. Levine, Midvale, Utah <ronaldhlevine@aideq.com>

Dear Mr. Adjodha,

Mercury fillings in teeth release a neurotoxin into the body for a
lifetime. I greatly resent this. I pay a premium price for highly
purified water and foods grown without pesticides, yet mercury is
being time released into my body from mercury fillings. I have them
because the dental establishment and government was trusted by
parents. Science and medicine doesn't know everything, so when we are
told that it is harmless, they can't really know. When I ask doctors
what causes cancer or a plethora of other diseases, they say they
don't know. With so much unknown, it is a lie to say that this mercury
exposure is harmless -- they don't know. There should be no innocent
until proven guilty standard for chemicals. That is a human right --
not a right of chemicals. Chemicals have no rights.

Government going along with the lie that mercury in fillings is
harmless comes with many costs including being complicit in this
criminal fraud. This is just one example of why government is not
trusted. In the news lately we are seeing a popular objection to the
privacy invasions of government in the name of catching terrorists.
Perhaps this wouldn't be as big of an issue if government were trusted
more. Go along with the lie that mercury fillings cause no harm and
continue to foster mistrust of government. I advocate government come
clean and admit that there are contradictions in the falsely presented
safety of mercury fillings. A government that fails to admit mistakes
will not be trusted. Let's start now to present healthier standards.

I call upon government to do something to give the people correct
health information concerning mercury fillings particularly since
there are excellent alternatives and government should even if there
weren't.
