| I write to strongly urge revision of the guidelines to explicitly prohibit the use of tissue from directly aborted fetuses and destroyed embryos in the future, in the development of vaccines to be approved by the FDA. I also urge the FDA to encourage and approve the development of cell lines not derived from tissue taken from directly aborted fetuses and the approval of the importation of safe vaccines which have been manufactured without using cell lines from aborted fetuses or destroyed embryos.
It only makes sense to utilize non-objectionable cell lines in vaccine production so that all people can benefit from them without compromising their moral beliefs and pro-life convictions. This is expecially true since there is an abundance of ethical sources for cell lines. In so doing, the FDA will make it clear that here in the United States, where the inalienable right to life is proclaimed in our Declaration of Independence, no person's life -- no matter how early in its development -- will be forfeited for the sake of others." It is the right thing to do. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
