| To whom it may concern,
I am writing to request that the FDA mandate pharmaceutical companies to seek sources for human vaccines (such as MMR, Varicella, and IPV) that do not involve tissue from aborted human fetuses (such as the WI-38 and MRC-5 cell lines). Human life begins at conception, and although it is convenient to overlook or ignore the rights of nascent human life and manipulate it to our advantage, it is morally wrong. The continued use of vaccines derived from aborted human fetuses is tacit approval of therapeutic abortion and could encourage further abortions for the sake of research. There are many other potential sources for vaccines (such as cord blood, animal tissue, and healthy volunteers) that are morally acceptable. Thank you for your consideration of this matter. Sincerely, Kyle A. Beiter, MD Obstetrics and Gynecology | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
