| I would consider you to strongly pursue other avenues of research first. As an opponent of abortion for any reason, my challenge to you is whether you have truly pursued all available avenues for obtaining tissues required, such as stem cells from live humans (such as are used in leukemia treatment) or animal-based means. I do not believe that the advancement of for-profit science should come at the expense of human life, no matter what the form and no matter what the potential benefit. The ethics of this boggle the mind - where would allowing this lead to? Euthanasia to harvest important cells? Perception of justifiable genocide if a "miracle" gene were found in a particular race or culture? Why, just 61 years ago during the liberation of Europe, we as poart of the Allied victors said we would never again let anything like that happen. If you open Pandora's box here, you won't be able to close it. I urge you to evaluate your conscience and determine whether the use of aborted fetal tissue is the right thing to do, and whther you've truly exhausted your options. Thanks. And yes, I'll pray for you as you make your decision, which surely is not without significant pressures in a propfit-driven society.
