| I am a pediatrician. I strongly encourage vaccines to all my patients. In the last few years I have had many patients who refuse immunizations for their children. Many parents express concerns about vaccine safety, but also an increasing number refuse immunizations because aborted fetal and embryonic cell lines were used to manufacture the vaccines. One way to increase the percent of children who are fully immunized is to encourage manufacturers to develop vaccines which pose no moral problems for the physician administering those vaccines or the parents and patients receiving them. Steps should be taken to assure that new vaccines are produced which do not use aborted fetus or embryonic cell lines. Increasing the numbers of fully immunized children and adults results in a healthier population. Removing moral barriers to vaccines will result in children receiving vaccines when they would otherwise not be receiving them. This provides a health benefit to our entire population.
