PLEASE DO NOT SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF VACCINATIONS USING CELL LINES FROM ABORTED BABIES! Is using cultures from aborted babies in vaccines cost effective? I assume so, especially for the pharmaceutical companies who are the owners of each particular cell culture. However, from a public health standpoint (especially a world-wide one) using such cultures in mass-produced vaccines is short sighted at best, and irresponsible at worst. Even leaving all moral considerations aside, to not encourage development of other types of vaccines -or at the very least not to have an available alternative- could have tragic consequences. I strongly oppose both the destruction of human life, and the use of deliberately destroyed human life as a commercial product. I know there is considerable debate about exactly when and why products obtained from abortion can be used ethically. However, I believe that many ordinary people are very hesitant to use such vaccines, or will be, once their true origins come to light.
| During a global pandemic this may be devastating.
For instance, I know there is a long-lasting vaccine for hepatitis A. It contains cultures obtained from abortion. I can't bring myself to use it and violate my conscience and moral standards. Nor have I gotten the new vaccine for shingles for the same reason. Authorities are implicitly betting that people will overcome such moral reluctance if circumstances are extreme enough. This is probably true. However, there are a substantial number of people who will wait, perhaps too long. At the very least they will not be proactive about seeking out these products. Some of us will die. It is simply wrong to expect people to violate their moral standards to have access to a vaccination when alternative vaccinations could be developed that do not use the cells from aborted babies. You have time, and a great opportunity, to avoid this tragic outcome by supporting alternative vaccines that do not contain cultures obtained from aborted babies. Please do!
