This letter is in response to the FDA invitation for public comment on the Industry Guidelines for development of cell-based viral vaccines

As I become more aware of the use of aborted fetal cells for vaccinations, I will refuse to purchase any vaccine that utilizes aborted fetal cell lines. Just because some see abortion as OK just because it is legal, I see it as still morally unacceptable and will not participate in the use of vaccinations for my children that use aborted fetal cells.

I am aware that a recent 2005 directive from the Vatican's Pontifical Academy for Life instructs that Catholic physicians and patients have a grave responsibility to use ethically produced alternatives. I take that grave responsibility very, very seriously and will take recourse, if necessary, to the use of conscientious objection with regard to the use of vaccines produced by means of cell lines of aborted human foetal origin. I do not want to stand before God knowing that I did what was morally unacceptable just so my children would not be exposed to some disease. I would rather perish from this life than take the chance on not spending eternity with the Father in the next.
