| I am writing per FDAs invitation for Public Comment on Docket Number 2006D-0383. It is my understanding that the NIH/NIAID and certain pharmaceutical companies have taken the position that it is appropriate to develop new vaccines based on aborted fetal cell lines. I am against the use of cell lines obtained from abortions. It would be wrong to develop vaccines to save lives whose source was the destruction of an embryo. This is morally objectionable to many people and will put them in the position of having to choose to use vaccines to protect their children and themselves that were obtained in a manner they consider unethical. This is not necessary since other ethical cell lines are available. Please do not put me, a father of four children, in such a position. Please take the position that vaccines should be developed from non-aborted cell lines. This will avoid a controversy that just isnt necessary in this important area.
Thank You, David Karle | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
