| I have had difficulties with my son when he was young and we lived in Burbank CA. A school nurse at the local public school recommended he be put on ritalin or something similar. I took him to a medical doctor who found he had low thyroid function as well as intestinal parasites incl a tape worm. We put him on remedies for this and he improved. Years later I took him for a full week-long evaluation at the Block Center in Fort Worth after we moved to Texas; more medical problems were found including high levels of mercury and other metals in his system probably from the polluted water in Burbank CA where Lockheed had spent years polluting the area with toxins and eventually closed down. Later, news of the fluke parasite in our drinking water was also disclosed, a danger to pregnant women. Our world today is more polluted, our diets are poor, we are under stress of suppression by terrorists and our global warming is causing organisms to thrive that are destructive. Psychiatric drugs cannot handle the cause or source of depression symptoms because the cause is usually medical or environmental and should be handled with remedies, vitamins, good nutrition, oxygenating the body with exercise and living in a happy, safe environment.
The ad campaigns are ludicrous and a travesty of good sense: 'Handle your depression with this drug though you might get very sick from it.'
