| Dear FDA,
It is good that you are finally holding hearings to address the false advertising which exists regarding psychiatric drugs. I hope the outcome is actually based on truth and integrity.
The TV ads for psychiatric drugs which state that a chemical imbalance exists in the brain is a total lie. There is no test or scientific fact to suggest that this is true. By feeding this lie to the public, people now have come to believe it. The gross irresponsibility of the drug companies must be put in check.
These psychiatric drugs are very dangerous, and can even cause suicide and/or violence and death in a good percentage of those who use them. The fact that people are asking their doctors for these drugs is largely due to false advertising.
I sincerely hope that you will have the integrity to truly serve the American people as you have been entrusted to do. Bowing to vested interests is not only extremely unethical, it is a betrayal of the people who trust you to do the job you are supposed to do.
Please STOP allowing these dangerous, mind-altering drugs to be advertised under totally false pretenses. If you do not do this, then it is quite obvious who you are not working for the American people, but only to line your pockets with cash and perks from pharmaceutical companies. I can see no other reason for you to continue to allow these ads. Please don't let greed and status impede your judgement. I am counting on you to do the right thing!
