| Dear FDA:
I think that the drug companies advertising should be restricted. I see all these ads offering free samples and making claims that should not be made on TV. Free Samples??? how do they know who they are sending these free samples to and what people do with them?
People should not walk into a doctor's office requesting medication - The doctors should let the patients know what they need. Drug companies should not sell drugs to people with sexy models and pretty pictures. Drugs should be perscribed by a doctor, not by TV.
I also think that their claims should be limited to fact and not just glossed over science. I saw a drug commerical the other day talking about a drug that could help balance the chemicals in your brain - I know from various liturature I have read that this claim is just NOT TRUE. There is no scientific research to support this drug claim. I mean if it were true - Why are all those kids on Prozac shooting their teachers and class mates in school? Why are all those kids on ritalin commiting suicide? If it were true - Why wouldn't we be living in a perfect world now - The reason is - IT'S NOT TRUE! And life is not that simple.
You can make a difference! Please do - Our country needs your help.
