| I am completely opposed to allowing consumer-direct advertising of pharmaceuticals, especially psychotropic medications, in any medium, but particularly television.
There is no clinical evidence of the so-called "chemical imbalance," which is supposedly responsible for depression, yet the public is bombarded with the pharmaceutical message that depressed people need mind-altering drugs to conquer this mythical syndrome.
I ask that the FDA step in and take back responsibility for public health and safety by curtailing the pharmaceutical companies from engaging in this harmful profit-driven practice.
