| At a time when as a country, we are struggling to rid our society of street drugs and drug abuse, I am repulsed by the ads on TV promoting drugs for depression, etc. This is sending the wrong message to our children. It is saying that you can solve all your problems by popping the right pill.
In my opinion, we are currently permitting drug pushers in the form of pharaceutical companies, to enter our homes and push drugs via the TV. This is unacceptable. While we spend billions on preventing illegal drugs from entering our country, we are letting irresponsible (ie money motivated) corporations to set up shop right here inside the country. This is the ultimate Trojan horse (ie bringing the very thing that we are fighting to prevent -- massive quantities of drugs being used to get "high" -- into our country by making them right here).
And where is the science to back up the drug makers claims? I haven't seen evidence of it. Let's get smart and stop allowing people to make money by promoting drugs to our society for depression and other mental symptoms, basically getting our population addicted to drugs.
