| These "direct to consumer" prescription drug ads need to be better regulated. Many people probably don't realize that the claims made in these ads may not be true. The drugmakers can claim anything, and seem to face no consequences for false or unproven statements.
The information in these ads is presented as scientific fact, and people act on this information as if it were legitimate medical advice, but in fact there is often nothing scientific about it.
