The FDA earlier assured that it would ACT by September 1 on whether women should be allowed to buy the morning-after pill, Plan B, without a prescription. Senators Hillary Clinton and Patty Murray allowed Mr. Crawford's nomination as commissioner to move forward this summer only because he promised a decision on Plan B by Sept. 1. Now we have all this bureaucratic gobblede-gook apparently intended to delay/deny over- the-counter emergency contraception already allowed by seven states. Massachusetts is set to become the eighth this fall. How absolutely dare you to presume to take control of our bodies. Will it be our minds next?
