To address the FDA public meeting regarding gluten & dairy free labeling.

Please understand I experience frightening seizures and episodes of fierce colon pain, and I lose control of my bowels when I eat GLUTEN, CORN, RICE, DAIRY, SOYBEANS, WHEAT, RYE, OATS, BARLEY the list it too long to add. Steatorrhea diarrhea had me weak, thin and frail. I am unable to take pharmaceutical drugs because most all of them contain gluten, corn and dairy. Think about it. What would happen? If YOU couldn?t take your medication to get better because it hidden ingredients are poisoning you?

PLEASE - label ALL FOODS, RX DRUGS, and ALCOHOL that are truly GLUTEN & DAIRY FREE. They must have NO dairy, corn, rice, oats, barley, and wheat.

Food labeling has a HUGE impact on if I will experience a seizure, or pass-out and loose control of my bowels. It is a frightening experience you wouldn`t want to watch no less face.

I READ EVERY LABEL, I must to STAY ALIVE! But the current labeling system is not as helpful as it should or could be. NO GLUTEN is more then just wheat. Many Celiac's suffer from other food allergies, other then gluten, so it is very important for those of us to know more.

FDA UNDERSTAND certain food will KILL US!

Plus labeling on any item that had gluten and dairy in it. This should include RX DRUGS, FOOD, ALL ALCOHOL, MAKE-UP, SKIN & HAIR CARE, ENVELOPES, any product or thing that comes in contact or is ingested by the human body, mouth, lips, eyes, skin and etc.

Also please consider a two or more level definition and of gluten-free labeling extremely helpful as well as trace amounts of an ingredient whatever they might be. I believe [every ingredient] in food no matter how small [NEEDS to be listed]. Our lives depend on it!

You as the FDA have an obligation to us, and the health care community. In heath care the largest amount of money over all is spent on digestive ailments what does that say? If the #1 heath problem in America, more so then cancer, or heart problems, it is digestive diseases and disorders, what does that tell the FDA? That the GRAINS and certain types of foods are making us sick and KILLING US!

On another note the ?Meals Ready to Eat? MRE the Government is handing out for victims of Katrina must be [offered] and labeled gluten & dairy free too. To date the MRE?s are not GLUTEN & DAIRY FREE. Take a look. I WOULD DIE if I had to survive on a MRE. Think about our soldiers at war who are Celiac?s too.

Please do something. PLEASE! Our lives, and the quality, of our lives depend on the FDA to protect us too. Thank you for offering this forum to consider this important health issue.
