| FDA Docket #2005N-0279
Define Gluten-Free for food labels.
1. Gluten Free should mean no wheat, rye, oats or barley in food.
2. I have to call the food manufacturers to find out if there is any gluten in foods. Some are cooperative, others are not. I spend hours reading labels and contacting food companies. I have to read every label each time I buy something.
3. Not many items are marked gluten free except those who specifically manufacture gluten-free products.
4. "Gluten-free" on a label definitely influences me. If it says that I will buy it.
