| For over 23 years, I have struggled to find gluten-free products to purchase in the local grocery store. Most products list "modified food starch" which is too general to assist me. I avoid products that are not clear and try only to purchase gluten free products so that I will not get sick. There are very few grocery products unless you travel to a specialty store or order on-line.
Celiacs (about 1 in 250 people) need FDA help in assuring gluten free means no oats, wheat, rye or barley in products. We need to be sure products are not contaminated by other grains as they are produced or packaged.
