| For 23 years I have been struggling to find 'gueten free' products. As a result I eat a very limited diet. It is time for FDA to help the many Celiacs in the USA.
Gluten-free should mean free of Oats, Wheat, Rye and Barley. It should mean that products are not contaminated by other grains as they are processed. It takes a lot of time to read labels and often a product may be okay but general wording like 'modified food starch' will prevent me from buying it. The local grocery store has very few gluten free products, we must travel to specialty stores or use the internet. I read all labels and buy brands that are known to be gluten free. We cannot cheat on this diet without getting sick and destroying our colons.
Please help Celiacs by clearly defining gluten free and encouraging food producers to develop products for us!
