Issue Areas/Comments
GENERAL
GENERAL
By this comment, I petition/ask the U. S. Food & Drug Administration (hereinafter, "Agency") to adopt
regulations regarding the
docketed item consistent with the recommendations of staff and personnel and position(s) of the
Center for Celiac Research, University of Maryland [Baltimore City] regarding foods, additives, GMPs,
etc.. I similarly petition/ask the Agency
to
adopt regulations that provide for the maximum practical identifiability of gluten-containing
and gliadin-containing
constituents in the U.S. food supply. I similarly petition/ask the Agency to
adopt regulations that ensure the minimum practical addition of gluten-containing
and gliadin-containing
constituents to items in the U.S. food supply.
Further, due to cross-sensitivity of some Celiac patients
to food items and additives and GMPs, etc. containing one or more of
soy, beans, chicken, eggs, dairy proteins,
and/or lactose, I similarly petition the Agency to issue regulations regarding these items in the U.S.
food supply similar to such as referenced above regarding gluten and gliadin. (I disclose that I submit
this Comment as an individual, but that I am Registered as Lobbyist, U.S. Congress, Washington
