Re; The Food Allergen Labeling & Consumer Protection Act should apply to 'Gluten Free' ingredients. This should identify the source of modified food starch (what TYPE OF FOOD STARCH),wheat, rye, oats, barley, msg, malt,hydolizied protein, guar gum. Why? Because Celiacs have an auto immune disease to these things. Our systems attack ourselvesif we ingest these items. This can lead to MANY SERIOUS health issues and mis-diagnosises causing exasserbated health issues,pain and agony ultimately leading to death!We have to read every label or we CANNOT BUY THE PRODUCT OR EAT IT! This is as important as a diabetic or a person who's throat closes to an allergic reation. Our situation is FOREVER,cannot be controlled w/ meds...ONLY BY DIET AND NOT INGESTING GLUTENS. At this time only 1% of the food packing out there will identify foods to be 'gluten free'. It takes us alot longer to shop as we have to read every label. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE....REQUIRE food packing labels to identify their proudcts to be 'gluten free ' if they in fact are and indentify each item in the food so we can chose to ingest or not. We ALL will be healthier for it!
