| I urge the mandatory requirement for food labels to list all ingredients and additives in order to decrease ingestion of sensitizing and allergic agents that can cause not only allergic reaction but severe reaction and death in some individuals. As a Master's prepared registered nurse and a diagnosed (Celiac) patient I have experienced rashes, hives, difficulty breathing and malabsorption due to ingredients not listed on labels or those that are "listed as eg: maltodextrin" versus the barley source. Additional labelling should require a statement that clearly states: product contains: milk, eggs, wheat, oat, bran etc.
I believe that in the name of public safety and in connection with patient safety programs initiated by CMS and the healthcare industry food manufactureres should also be guided to have human safety programs in place.
