| Do not put undue burdens on herb companies to "prove" the benefits of the herbs. The knowledge is readily available and has been utilized in all civilations throughout time. The cost to the companies and then to the consumer will be so prohibitive as to make some of them no longer viable as companies and no longer available to consumers.
The dangers and side effects of drugs are far greater. Spend your time on irradiated foods, additives, preservatives, food colorings, pesticides, chlorine, flouride, artificial hormones and other toxic substances allowed in our food and water. These are far more hazardous than herbs as evidenced by people groups who are living off the herbs, apart from the dangers of industrialized nations. If these toxins were eliminated from our foods, the need for herbs would be dramatically minimized and drugs could be saved for life threatening situations only.
I have used herbs only for 20 years and not touched drugs once. I have used them for every infection that has come along, as well as to maintain good healthy living habits. They have proved themselves safe repeatedly and have brought me around much more quickly than my friends come around who use drugs.
I cannot imagine life without herbs. Being forced to use drugs or synthetic herbs due to the lack of availability of whole food herbs will be devastating.
If they are ever made available by prescription only we will devastate both the patient and the doctors alike. Many doctors have never been trained and don't have a belief system framed on the natural mindset. They are way too busy to call in prescriptions, much less herbs they know little to nothing about.
Please leave the intent Congress had in the 1994 bill in place. We need to be able to use herbs freely and be informed as we educate ourselves.
