With so many dangerous chemicals in the regular food available in grocery stores, and all the dangerous drugs pushed by drug companies and doctors, I find it quite appalling that food supplements, nutrition, herbs and such are under attack again. These herbs and vitamins are made up of things, which were put on this earth for our consumption by our maker. Pure natural vitamins and herbs and food supplements are imperative to our health. As a consumer I feel it is my right to supplement with vitamins, herbs and nutritional supplements to better my health and the health of my family. As much as it is my right to eat fresh vegetables, and fruits and things grown from our earth and in our gardens. Natural supplements contain nutrition. Yet they are under attack??? In today?s world "nutrition" available in food stores is to say the least depleted of what our body needs and most often filled with junk ingredients. It is important to our health to supplement, as there is no other way to get the nutrition into our bodies.

I have been a member for 9 years with Nature's Sunshine Products and through NSP have learned how to supplement my diet with herbs and vitamins. Those of us who are interested in supplements do our homework. It is rare to find anyone who will just take supplements without doing research. The consumers of supplements, vitamins, herbs etc. are educated. Very often self-educated, reading all they can before beginning to take them.

In comparison ... if over the counter drugs come into "the general publics" homes via mail, the recipients will just pop them in their mouths without a thought, next time they have what ever symptoms it is advertised for. Yet these over the counter drugs ARE very dangerous. Also these drugs which are advertised on the TV, as "ask your doctor for" i.e. Viagra, Cialis .... People will also just take them without doing any kind of research. Because they have been "approved" by some authority.

Supplements are different, only the educated will touch supplements.

Too much of a supplement will cause ... diarrhea?.. whereas, any of these over the drug meds, and advertised drugs can literally kill you. How is it that this USA of our has become so corrupt that it has become so blinded and so backwards. How is it in the USA we are loosing our rights to get nutrition, yet it is okay to take these drugs which ruin our livers, and kidneys, our brains, arteries. The FDA needs to refocus on what is killing us and who it is who is getting paid off to actually push these ridiculous accusations that herbs and vitamins are the problem.

Here in the USA the drug industry is what the FDA should be focused on. The drugs are what are killing us. Not the vitamins and supplements.

The Dietary Supplement Health Education Act (DSHEA) is in place to protect consumers and to allow companies such as Nature?s Sunshine to provide nutrition to those of us who are interested in nutrition instead of Drugs. This act has made it so that labels contain all ingredients and no false statements. Let consumers continue to have these supplements available to them. Leave the Dietary Supplement Health Education Act
(DSHEA) in place and intact.
