| There seems to be an aspect of the entire drug importation puzzle that the committee is not addressing. How can we certify that prescription medications received in the mail are going only to the prescription holder and being used under approved and safe circumstances? Allowing certified prescription medication into the country through the mail is only on concern. What about individuals who rely on proper care from parents, nurses, doctors, relatives? How will they be protected from being given mail order prescription medications/ imported prescription medications that may not apply to their needs?
It has been my direct experience that copious amounts of self/home prescribed anti-biotics, anti-depressants, geriatric and pediatric medications are entering this country and assumably being given to individuals by their care givers under various care giving circumstances.
