| As a consumer I am very worried about using cloned animals in our food supply. There are many pieces to the cloning puzzle as I know it and I am concerned that there could be the level of oversite that would be needed to make sure nothing went wrong that would cause the end result to be mutated. Another issue is the level of drugs needed to keep these animals well, making the antibiotic issue we already face worst. People want to know were their food comes from. The turn towards organic and local farming are slowing turning upwards, people do not want this. Therefore I am against using cloned animals.
Even with the opposition, if cloning is OKed I think it is a MUST for any product using it to have that listed on the label. There should be NO exceptions. If .01% is from a cloned animal it should be listed. I think people should be able to make the choice for themselves and not have others make the choice for them. This rule should also go for resturants. They need to note that they use this type of meat for the consumer to know.
We are going towards adding more labeling as we find out about the affects of different things. Let's do this right the first time and label from the beginning.
