| To Whom It May Concern,
I am a consumer, wife, and mother who are completely and whole-heartedly against my family and I eating meat from cloned animals. I am concerned about the long-term effects of eating such meats. The effect of eating cloned animals has not been studied in length. Due to the inexact science of cloning, I feel that approving the sale of this meat is not safe for human consumption. I would like for they are to be labeling of these foods if they are approved to be put on the market because I have the right to know exactly what I am eating. What is the fear of requiring that there be labeling of cloned meats? That if the consumer is aware of these types of meats that they will not buy it? And if so, what is the fear? If these animals are of no danger for human consumption then there should be no concerns for labeling these foods. It is well known that these animals are known to have health conditions that are not immediately recognized. Why is it that the FDA is approving foods to be put on the market and sold to the American public that other countries in the world have not done and/or is refusing to do? America used to be the land of the free and a country where the American people had choices and right to say no. Approving the sale of this cloned meat would mean that the decision was made for us. The American people should have the final decision as to whether or not this meat should be released into the market for human consumption.
I am asking that the animal clones are not approved for human consumption and for some reason it is approved, I am requesting that there is labeling of the cloned meat.
Thank you for taking the time to read my comments,
