| I understand that cloned foods have been found to be safe by today's testing standards and methods. However, I encourage labeling of these foods so that in the event that future testing methods reveal a nutritional or safety difference, the consumer and healthcare industry can properly identify who has consumed these products and who has not.
History has shown that many foods that were thougtht to be safe were dangerous in unexpected ways (for example, trans fatty acids in partially hydrogenated oils), and I feel that foods derived from a new method such as cloning should be labeled separately so that we can better track future discoveries.
Thank you for your time.
