GENERAL
I am concerned with the proposal to introduce cloned animals into our nations food supply. It can take many years to find out the hazards to the health of consumers. I would choose not to be a guinea pig for this test. What is even more upsetting to me is that I will not have a choice! I do not see how this can be put into our food supply and then not labeled. I could not choose to continue purchasing meat products without eventually eating animals that have been cloned or born from animals that were cloned. I would be forced to eat this science project or become a vegetarian. I do not want to become vegetarian but I would do so if this were to go forward. Another concern I have is what will happen if 10-20 years from now if eating cloned animal products is determined to have severe health risks, how will the cloned animals ,or animals born from a clone, be separated out from the food supply? I understand these companies that are cloning these animals have invested a lot of money in perfecting this technology and are looking to make some money on it but it should not be done at the expense of the nations consumers. I frequently see in the news that medical procedures and medicines 'approved' by the FDA have been found to have severe health risks years later. Let me choose to eat food as it is found in nature as it was created by God. I ask that you reconsider your decision and do not go forward with this and introduce cloned animal products into our nations food supply.
