I understand from the news that the FDA is allowing the use of cloned meat for human consumption without any special labeling on the products. That is a frightening thought, as a consumer I would like to make my own INFORMED decisions about what I eat. I think that it is a deception in the worst possible way to allow people to eat products that may prove harmful to them (or that their religious beliefs would prevent them from eating) without their knowledge. The FDA is supposed to make sure that the consumer is informed about what they consume and although you may deem it safe no one knows the long term effects that eating cloned meat will have on people and you are taking a big risk by not informing people of what they are consuming. Just like organic and kosher food is labeled so that the consumer can decide for themselves what they would like to eat, so too should cloned meat be labeled so that we can make our own decisions for ourselves and our children. It is irresponsible and irrational for you to assume that people wouldn't want to know. You have a duty as an administration to inform the public.
