| I believe that the FDA's decision that cloned animals are "safe" to eat is very premature. More studies and simply more time needs to pass to see how these animals develop into old age, what happens to them during that time, and when the cloned animal dies, a careful look at the body should be taken and the body tissues tested extensively.
At the very least, meat NEEDS to be labeled for consumers whether it is FROM a cloned animal or not, or if the animal was FED with feed that had discards from cloned animals.
Right now, I have a very strong impression that this decision is biased and has "MONEY" behind it from the industry. Please demonstrate to me and others that this is not true by reversing this decision for now, until more information is known and more time has passed to allow for more knowledge to occur.
When the market gets to the point of selling cloned-animal meat, I am not going to purchase ANY meat and/or meat products for me and my family until the FDA and the industry proves to me that extensive safeguards will be taken.
Please do not damage the public's faith in the FDA and do the right thing.
Thank you -- Sheri Bakunowski
