| As a consumer I must express my extremely strong feelings and insist that the FDA continue to demand 'full disclosure' on all food products submitted for consumption to humans. Especially when it comes to cloned products whether it be meat, vegetable or produce. Cloned animal meat has not been tested in human beings and any cloned food for human consumption should be labelled as 'Cloned Food'. I do not want to be a human guinea pig and I do not wish to purchase cloned meat. I insist that food be labelled properly, accurately and fairly so the public can make choices in the marketplace. Those choices should include labelling that indicates place of origin, ingredients, whether it is a natural or cloned product, radiated or non-radiated, etc, etc. As a citizen of this great country I expect that a Federal Agency like the FDA would insist on 'Full Disclosure' so that the public can make educated decisions and choices when it comes to purchasing food for consumption. The public and the FDA should settle for nothing less then Full Disclosure. The financial and economic benefits incurred by the Biotech industry and the farmers should NOT out weigh the public interest for Full Disclosure when it comes to purchasing food. Nor should anyone lay claim that choices made by the public are made due to ignorance or a lack of knowledge and therefore should be ignored. The public interest should come first and the FDA has an obligation and responsibility to provide the public with the information they need to make choices.
