| I am not against the cloning of animals for public consumption, however I am against not letting the public know about it. I think we all have a right to know where our food comes from. There is always something on TV about Americans needing to take responsibility for what they eat, wash their food before they eat it (even if it says that it has been washed already), and for us to research products before we buy them. If you do not label the meat, then how can we, as Americans, make an educated choice? What you will do is make people scared to buy meat, just like they are scared to buy prepackaged salads and spinich.
I think the people that want to sell the cloned meat, should be the ones that pocket the expense for the labels. If you do not require it, the other compaines will have to pay to re-label their product "No cloned meat used" so that Americans feel safe. Yes, this may be all in vain and this meat might be as safe as any other, but you must keep American's educated and let them make their own choice.
