| We have studied the report "Animal Cloning:A Draft Risk Assessment"
Center for Veterinary Medicine U. S. Food and Drug Administration Department of Health and Human Services 7500 Standish Place Rockville, MD 20855 12/28/2006 We believe that it is essential to more clearly define the regulations governing cloned animals that are not transgenic and in contrast to cloned animals that are transgenic. The current report leaves the impression that approval of cloned animals is essentially the same for both transgenic and non-transgenic animals leading to blanket approval without full regard of the hazards of the transgenic clones. The cloned transgenic animals are uniquely hazardous. See attachment "GM Food Animals Comming" an update of our report earlier submitted to The Codex Alimentarius Commission. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
