| I am writing to register my concern over the cloned food issue. I understand that your organization claims that the food is not dangerous to humans, but there are other concerns to consider as well. Introducing genetic varations into a population can never be reversed, and the effect of such action cannot possibly be understood at this time. I feel very strongly that this is an unwise move, and I can not help but think that the FDA's refusal to label the products is proof that the public is not behind such a move. Clearly, as public organization, you have the responsibility to serve the general population, and not the only the argricultural industry. I understand that a cloned animal may be a finicial convience for farmers, but some trade offs are not worth it. As a consumer, I am extremely concerned about this action, and will be very dissapointed in the FDA if they ignore overwhelming public opinion in favor of an easy out. Unfortunately, it may just be enough to make me become a vegetarian. Thank you for your time.
