I would like to suggest (although, I'm sure I'm not the first) that all food products should contain a statement regarding lactose: contains lactose does not contain lactose may contain trace amounts of lactose This would make life, and grocery shopping, significantly easier for the millions of us who suffer from lactose intolerance. At present, we are forced to spend considerable time standing in the aisles reading every ingredient looking for anything that suggests lactose might be present. I am not an expert on the subject, and so I'm not aware of every technical term that might be found on an ingredients list that would actually contain lactose. Adding a simple statement to the bottom of all nutrition labels would end any confusion consumers may have. Thank you for taking the time to consider this suggestion.
