The organization has found, through extensive investigation, that aspartame has not caused any serious health side effects: “Aspartame is another common artificial sweetener. Extensive investigation so far hasn't shown any serious side effects from aspartame. …Aspartame is metabolized to several products, including the amino acid phenylalanine.
