GENERAL
I want to let the Food and Drug Administration know that, as consumers, I oppose the use of non-ambulatory (downed) cattle in animal feed. Reversing its earlier position on downers, the FDA has catered to the meat industry and recently announced that it plans to allow most parts of the carcasses of downed and dead animals to be rendered for animal feed. This removes the incentive for farmers to take better care of their animals in the first place! and please put the downers to sleep handling humanely.
